Welcome to the Velveteen Lop Breeders of Texas
Welcome to the Velveteen Lop Breeders of Texas Club, where a passion for unique rabbits unites people from across the Lone Star state and beyond. Our club is a community of Velveteen Lop rabbit breeders, exhibitors, and pet owners who share a love for this distinctive rabbit breed.
Velveteen Lops are the first breed of rabbit combining lop ears and rex fur. They resemble miniature English Lops. But their most noteworthy trait is their curious, gentle temperament. Presently Velveteens show under an ARBA Certificate of Development as an exhibition breed. |
Lop ears
Velveteen Lop rabbits are renowned for their lop ears, which hang longer than dwarf lop breeds but not quite as long as English Lops. Ears are the most easily-recognized trait of a Velveteen!
Modest size
Velveteen Lop rabbits resemble miniature English Lops. Weighing five to seven pounds, they strike a balance between being manageable but not so small to be fragile. Their size makes them easy for even younger children to handle.
|
Velvety furVelveteens sport luxurious rex fur, which is soft and velvety to the touch. Their fur is plush and dense. When you run your fingers through it, you can't help but be reminded of the smoothness of velvet.
Friendly personality
What truly distinguishes Velveteen Lop rabbits is their gentle temperaments, making them exceptional pets and show rabbits. Whether you're seeking a companion for your family or a striking show rabbit, Velveteen Lops are the perfect choice.
